Hello new friends! I am very excited and thankful to participate in Impact Week.

Thanks for having me Jackie!

When thinking about how God has made an IMPACT on my life I was overwhelmed with thoughts, memories &; experiences.  How do you decide on one story? How do I choose from all the little miracles in my life? After some time and consideration and prayer I decided I wanted to share with you how I believe one of the greatest ways God makes an impact in ones life, not just mine, is through FRIENDS.

Starting in high school I remember vividly the IMPACT friends had on me. FRIENDS have the ability to make an IMPACT on you in a wonderful way through GODS LOVE or in a negative way through the adversary. Without going into details, there were a few times where I was very close to choosing the wrong path that would have ultimately led me further away from God and his plan for me.

In High school an inspired friend felt prompted to share some thoughts with me on a tape. She recorded her feelings & pleadings as the spirit guided her to help me realize the path of which I was headed would not lead me to happiness. I was dating someone, who while fun and exciting, was not committed to the standards I was trying to keep. The more time I spent with him the harder it became to making the right choices. I am forever grateful for her friendship and example keeping me on the right path. I know the IMPACT she made on my life was in turn an IMPACT God made as well.

When I was a very young age, my dad was in a serious accident. Hit by a truck on a busy Atlanta Highway while he was out of his car giving aid to passengers in a previous accident. I was only in 4th grade. I left home that morning for school and when I returned my home was filled with friends of my mom and dads from church & the neighborhood. I remember so much service rendered to us in huge and small ways over the next year as my dad recovered. God made a huge IMPACT in my life as I observed all of these amazing friends serve tirelessly to help my mother raise us 7 children and be able to take care of my dad at the hospital and eventually at home.

When I was 18 I decided I wanted to be a nanny in NYC. I wanted to get in state tuition at FIT, for fashion design. I decided being a live in nanny was the way to do it. I got a job working for a wonderful family on Long Island just outside Queens. It was a dream come true for me. I felt the excitement of the city nearby. My first week there I was picked up by a nanny who lived close to take me to FHE at the church building. I had no idea we would become such great friends and how through her, God would guide and direct me in my life yet again.  Keeping me on the path to help me ultimately meet my soon to be eternal husband and have a forever family of all these darling little girls. (and boy in 4 weeks!) This friend often held me accountable to what was most important. She would ask me questions reminding me what was best. I like to say she kept me in-line. I believe that without her placed in my life I would have gone off the deep end. I would have gotten lost amidst the NYC life and who knows where I would be today?

These are just a few examples, but I can think of many many more of how God has IMPACTED my life through friends. He is amazing. He knows just what we need. Sometimes it is reversed, a friend you are able to help, a friend you are able to serve that makes an IMPACT in your life. All of these experiences are Gods way of showing you how much he loves you. How much he cares and doesn't want you to feel alone. Through the service you render as a friend he is able to show you how much he trusts you.

My challenge to you is to think about the friendships in your life. Think about how Gods hand was in them. Think about how God made an IMPACT on your life through that experience and write it down so you never forget it.

Hugs,

Jenn-Lee

This is a great post. I actually wrote about a friend who impacted my life on my blog today.
I truly believe that our friends do have an impact on us, and we have an impact on other people - we give each other service, we listen, we love on another - we are Gods hands on this earth to help each other and lift each other.

Have a Happy Day!

God sees us, but it is usually through another person that he meets our needs.
Just lovely!
