Surely I am not the only one who thinks it would be an intense tragedy to lose my blog.
Because when it comes right down to it
Google (or whatever you use) controls what happens to your blog.
The point is.
Google could freeze my account.
Any number of things.
SO BACK-UP YOUR BLOG, PEOPLE.
It takes like 30 seconds.
If you go to Settings, Basic, Export Blog it will
download it to your desktop.
That way if something were to happen to your blog,
you could just upload your last download.
I'm doing mine once a bi-monthly.
Wordpress users, I think you have a feature that can do it for you.
Because wouldn't you hate to lose this:

Oh my gosh. The headlamp? Hysterical! I love that your husband is sitting patiently while they read in the dark. My sons LOVED getting spy gear for every gift giving occasion. Sometimes the gadgets actually worked. Bonus.

Ok. So I exported my blog and it downloaded to my desktop. I opened the downloaded file and found what looked like a great, long html code.
I am wondering how to retrieve this back-uped blog, assuming that I will need it some day. I copied and pasted the html code from the file and put it into test blog. nada. All I got was a bunch of gobbly gook.
What do you think?

So if you were ever to lose your blog, you would go to the same place you downloaded it from, and instead of 'exporting your blog' you would 'import' then select the file you saved, which looks like a big super long HTML code.
This would also work if you started a new blog, but wanted to move the posts from the old one over as well.
